I can’t log in.

Make sure you have the latest version of breakupbuddy.

If you’ve signed up through Facebook, make sure you have the latest version available; go to the phone settings, remove your Facebook account, log back in to Facebook in the phone settings, and try logging in to breakupbuddy again. Also, make sure the GPS (“location services”) on your device is enabled. If this doesn’t solve the issue, you may have to try again at a later time.

The app keeps crashing.

BUB just launched, so please be patient with us :)

Make sure you have the latest version of breakupbuddy and try closing the app: If you’re using an iPhone, double tap the “Home” button, and swipe breakupbuddy up to force quit the app. On Android: Go to ‘Settings’, go to ‘Apps’, select breakupbuddy, hit ‘force quit’, then open breakupbuddy again. You can also try restarting your phone and reinstalling the app. As long as you don’t delete your account you won’t lose any of your information.

How do I edit my profile?

To edit your profile, touch the ‘my profile’ icon on the bottom right hand corner, then touch the ‘settings’ icon in the top right hand corner and edit away. You can add up to 5 photos, edit your ‘about me’ and change your phone number or email address. You cannot edit your gender or birthday for security reasons. If you need changes made, please contact us directly at support@breakupbuddyapp.com

How do I change my categories?

My profile > top right hand settings icon > profile settings > edit categories

Right swipe for next page, reselect categories, press save.

When I join an event, it disappears from my feed!

Don’t worry, it is supposed to do that. It doesn’t really disappear, it just moves from your feed to your B-events. There they are sectioned into accepted/pending/my events.

How do I view unlimited BUBs?

With our viewing pack. 

Will I lose my events and favourites list if I remove the app from my phone?

No, removing the app won’t delete any of your settings or events.

How do I deactivate my account?

My profile > top right hand settings icon > app settings > account settings > deactivate account.

Deactivating will pause your account until you reactivate it, so all your information is safe.

How do I add a profile picture?

Make sure you have the latest version of breakupbuddy. When prompted, allow breakupbuddy access to your camera roll. If you have logged in through Facebook; make sure your pictures are in a public album or at least visible to your friends (not you only) on Facebook. You can also try moving the pictures to a different album on Facebook. Try closing the app; log out, and back in again.

How do I change my default profile picture?

Upload the photo you want as a default. Hold down your finger on the one you want and pull up into main square.

How do I display my Instagram on my breakupbuddy profile?

Put it into your ‘about me’ section with at @ symbol. (ie: @breakupbuddy)

Can I use my Instagram photos as profile pictures?

Your Instagram photos can not be taken from Instagram directly as profile pictures on breakupbuddy. Profile pictures can only be uploaded from your camera, camera roll or Facebook.

Where is the chat? I cannot contact anyone!

BUB doesn’t have a chat feature. When you create an event you give your email or phone number to accepted users so that they can communicate with you.

If a BUB accepted you to an event, you will see their phone number and/or email address (depending on what they choose to display) in order for you to directly contact them. 

What do I do if a user doesn’t come to an event?

When you’re asked to rate them, please let us know the BUB was a no-show. 3 no-shows will result in review of their account and possible deletion.

How do I block someone?

You can block any user that you feel is behaving inappropriately, whether you’ve met them or not. To block someone, go to their profile, hit the menu icon (3 horizontal dots) and hit block BUB. If you block individual BUBs they won’t be able to see your events

Can I unblock someone?

How do I report someone?

You can report any user that you feel is behaving inappropriately, whether you’ve met them or not. To report someone, go to their profile, hit the menu icon (3 horizontal dots) and hit report BUB.

BUB says “There are no events in your area”

Go to Home >top right ‘filter’ icon > filter and try decreasing the matching percentile/increasing the events distance range and the age of the creators. You can also pick ‘both’ sexes to increase your chance to meet a cool BUB.

What are the numbers next to the person icon underneath a name on a profile/ next to a name in BUBs?

This number is an indicator that shows you how well you match with someone. The higher this number, the better suited you are according to the answers you gave us.

How do I change my city?

breakupbuddy uses your current location to show you interesting people nearby. If you want to change your location and match with people in a different city, purchase the jetsetter pack.

My profile > top right hand settings icon > BUB > Jetsetter locations > add cities, then choose.

I can’t change my location.

If you’re unable to change your location, check your connection and try again later. You can also try logging out and logging back in. To do so, go to ‘App Settings’, scroll down, and hit ‘Logout’.

What is Ratings pack?

Rate other BUBs based on your experience and see how they rated you.

What is the Viewing pack?

View all your profile visitors and BUBs who have made you their favourite.

What is the VIP pack?

Access to all areas of BUB. Combines all other packs

Billing

There was a problem setting up billing.

If you received an error message that said “problem setting up in-app billing”, please make sure your account is setup on your device. To do so, go to Settings, select Accounts, and make sure you are logged in to your Apple/Google account.

How do I change payment information?

If you need to change your credit card information, log onto the App Store or  Google Play Store.

My payment method failed.

Please make sure that you’ve entered your payment information accurately and try again. Please note that accepted payment methods for both iOS and Android only include credit and debit card at this time. For a list of accepted credit and debit cards, please refer to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
