§ 1

Collection of Data from or about You or Your Device

In order to provide you with the Service, we collect, store, use, and analyse data we collect from or about you or your device. 

We collect certain personal data that you provide voluntarily about yourself and which can identify you (“Personal Data”). 

At registration, we collect your name, contact information and/or month and year of birth. 

During your use of the service we collect and may store GPS location data from your mobile device.

When registering as a user of breakupbuddy, you have to sign in by using your email address or your Facebook login. If you choose to access via Facebook, you authorize us to access certain Personal Data, such as your public Facebook profile (in accordance with your privacy settings in Facebook), your email address, interests, likes, gender, birthday, education history, relationship interests, current city, photos, personal description, friend list, and information about and photos of your Facebook friends who might be common Facebook friends with our other users.  If you access our Services from Facebook, you will also need to read and agree to the Facebook Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

If you download or use the Service, you must approve our collection of your device location information.

While using the Service, you may choose to provide or share: name, address, email address, telephone number, photos, a personal description and information about your gender and preferences for recommendations, such as search distance and age range.

If you use our Services and visit our website, we also automatically collect certain technical data such as information about your browser or device which include your IP address, device ID and type, your browser type and language, the operating system used by your device, access times, your mobile device’s geographic location during the active use of our Services, and the website which refers you to our Service.

These cookies allow us to distinguish you from other users of our Services, which help us to provide you with a good experience when using our Services and to improve these. The Data which we collect as described above, may be used by us for example: (a) to verify your eligibility to open a profile or use the Service; (b) to verify the accuracy of the representations and warranties you make at registration; (c) to provide, deliver, develop, manage, research, analyse and advertise or promote our Services or in connection with our Services; (d) for website or mobile application analytics; (e) to enforce or exercise any rights in our Terms of Services; (f) for the settlement and processing of contests and sweepstakes; and (g) to perform functions or services as otherwise as set out in the description provided to you at the time of collection.

We may use a third party vendor to process your data on our behalf, including to verify your eligibility to use the service, or the accuracy of representations and warranties you make in the course of opening and maintaining an account with us. We may share your Non-Personal Data with third party social platforms, if you access our Services from such platforms, in the scope of your privacy settings on each social platform.

After you register as a user of breakupbuddy, your breakupbuddy profile will be viewable by other users of the Service. The data accessible to other users are data you provided us directly or through your Facebook settings. The data you provide directly to other users are just viewed by the certain user.

In the event we go through a business transition such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your Personal Data may be among the assets transferred.  You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of ours or that acquirer’s affiliates may continue to process your Personal Data as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

We may disclose Personal Data if we are under a duty to disclose or share a your Personal Data in order to comply with any legal obligation, including responding to subpoenas or other lawful service of process, or in order to enforce or apply any contract with you or other agreements; or to protect our rights, property, or safety of our employees, customers, or others.  We may also disclose information we’ve collected from or about you to law enforcement or others for purposes of protecting the health and safety of our community and registered users, such as in the case of risk of harm or violence against any person (including you).

We may combine certain non-identifying data collected from users we collect with additional data from other sources. Your Choices and Preferences

If you have a breakupbuddy account, you have the ability to review and update your Personal Data in the “Settings” page for your account.  You can temporarily de-activate your profile or completely delete your account. After deleting your account, we will retain certain of your data for the purpose of analysing. If certain data have already been provided to third parties as described in this Privacy Policy, retention of that data will be subject to those third parties’ policies. Our Service may also deliver notifications to your phone or mobile device. These notifications may be disabled by deleting the relevant Service or by changing the settings on your mobile device.  If you disagree with the data collection by cookies, you may delete or decline cookies by changing your browser setting, but this may impact or degrade your ability to access to use features of our Service.

breakupbuddy protects your information using technical, physical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure or modification of your information. Some of our safeguards include firewalls, encryption, physical access controls, etc. While we have employed reasonable security technologies and procedures to assist safeguarding your personal information, no system or network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Information and Content You Voluntarily Share about Yourself

All of your postings in connection with our Services are governed by our Terms of Use.. Whenever you voluntarily disclose Personal Data on publicly-viewable pages, that information will be publicly available and can be collected and used by others.
